Creating a traditional look for a modern cycling club

A club with cycling at its core but it is not all about the bike, it's a lifestyle. La Squadra wanted an identity that would effortlessly ride alongside.

Challenge

The well-established cycling club based in Sheffield were looking for a refreshed brand identity, which would fit seamlessly into their lifestyle of quality food, good company and of course enjoyable rides in the Peak District.

Strategy

It was important that the new identity reflected La Squadra's values. They pride themselves in being a club that is welcoming and sociable and supportive. Bringing together cyclists with similar interests and lifestyles, without taking the cycling aspect too seriously.

Solution

A design reminiscent of classic Italian cycling was created. Its use of traditional colours and classic typefaces allowed it to be used across web, print and apparel with ease. The single page website is a hub for riders or newcomers, allowing quick access to ride times, social media content and contact information. The new style also follows through to the kit and now the whole team have a professional uniform look when out on the road.
