Redefining Time
for Parkers Jewellers

Parkers Jewellers set up their business over 40 years ago with the vision to deliver the ultimate level of quality in the trade of pre-owned, luxury watches. They have been served in almost every aspect of this, from their beautiful stock to their branding, location and acumen. However, as time has gone by, the ‘vintage’ aspect of their business started to apply a little too much to their own online presence.

That’s why they got in touch with Vivid Creative.

the challenge

a need for for stronger Ecommerce

When Parkers Jewellers partnered with Vivid, they were relying on an outdated WordPress/WooCommerce setup that no longer aligned with their luxury brand. The site was sluggish, offered a poor user experience, and the checkout process wasn’t designed to convert. Most importantly, the visual identity didn’t reflect the premium nature of their pre-owned luxury watches.

Their previous site was built on a restrictive theme, requiring developer input for even the smallest updates. For a business dealing in high-end Rolex, Omega, and Cartier watches, the online experience fell far short of the product standard.

the solution

migration to Shopify

Vivid recommended moving Parkers from WordPress/WooCommerce to Shopify; a platform specifically designed for e-commerce. Unlike WooCommerce, which relies on plugins to sell online, Shopify offers a complete, built-in e-commerce framework.

But the shift wasn’t just technical, it became a chance to reimagine how Parkers presented themselves online.

Technical migration

One of the biggest challenges was dealing with differences in URL structure between WordPress and Shopify. Each system uses distinct naming conventions for content. The Vivid team exported all WooCommerce data, cleaned it to suit Shopify’s format, and applied comprehensive 301 redirects to maintain SEO performance.

Thanks to this careful approach, Parkers retained their search visibility, a critical factor for a business dependent on organic traffic.

complete

brand elevation

The migration opened the door to broader improvements. Vivid conducted a full audit and identified essential elements that luxury watch buyers expect: robust FAQs, detailed service pages, authenticity assurances, and better filtering.

Every product image was retaken to meet the standards of top-tier luxury watch retailers. The old photos were blurry and poorly lit, not reflective of a premium brand. The new visuals gave each timepiece the showcase it deserved.

UX improvements

Navigation was simplified, making it easier for users to get to product pages. The checkout was rebuilt using Shopify’s conversion-focused templates, and features like Shop Pay were smoothly integrated; something that would have taken considerable custom work on WooCommerce.

The new homepage acts as an elegant content hub, featuring rotating banners, handpicked product displays, blog highlights, and multiple CTAs, all aimed at driving users toward a purchase or appointment.

Integrated

marketing approach

The website refresh was part of a broader brand evolution. Vivid created a unified visual identity across all digital platforms: emails, social media and the site.

Through audience research, Vivid learned which brands and styles resonated with Parkers’ clientele. This insight informed collections like “Mid-Century Modern,” “Time Travelers Collection,” and “Tidal Collection.” By testing and refining each campaign, they built a consistent message across every channel.

This wasn’t just a tech upgrade, it was about positioning Parkers as the premium pre-owned watch retailer they truly are.

the results

Sophisticated, luxurious, contemporary

The new site is notably faster, with stronger user engagement. Most importantly, Parkers can now stand confidently alongside other luxury watch retailers – something their old site didn’t support.

Shopify’s backend has proven far more manageable. Promotions, stock updates, and product changes no longer require a developer, giving Parkers more flexibility to adapt.

Perhaps the biggest win is the foundation now in place for future growth. With their move from Hatton Garden to The Clubhouse in Holborn Circus, and a shift to an appointment-based service model, their online presence finally reflects their elevated in-store experience.

Why Shopify?

Shopify turned out to be the right choice for Parkers because it’s built for e-commerce from the ground up. Its features, from streamlined checkout to secure payments, are all focused on turning visitors into buyers. Compared to WordPress/WooCommerce, it’s faster to deploy and easier to manage.

For luxury sellers like Parkers, Shopify offers the polished digital infrastructure needed to present high-value products without needing a developer on call.
